Outpatient

The outpatient clinic of the University Clinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the University of Magdeburg is the only university-supported department of its kind in northern Saxony-Anhalt and is located on the campus of the Medical Faculty of the University of Magdeburg. The number of patients results from the population of the catchment area of northern Saxony-Anhalt, which is approximately 1.4 million. As an interface between practicing dentists, specialists and other clinics, the outpatient clinic of the University Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery represents a key position between diagnostics, outpatient and inpatient care.

The department has a total of 5 state-of-the-art treatment rooms with computer network, a digital X-ray department and a complete dental laboratory.

The main therapeutic spectrum in the field of oral surgery includes:

  • Removal of impacted and displaced teeth
  • Jaw cyst operations
  • apicoectomies
  • dental implantology
  • traumatology of teeth and jaw bones
  • preprosthetic surgery
  • treatment of oral mucosa diseases and tumors

For patients for whom outpatient treatment is not sufficient for recovery, inpatient treatment is coordinated and initiated via the outpatient clinic in consultation with the attending general practitioners and family dentists.

Patients with a referral can present themselves at our outpatient clinic after making an appointment by telephone from Monday to Thursday 08.00 to 12.30 and from 14.00 to 15.30 and Friday 08.00 to 12.00.

Former inpatients are cared for in post-treatment consultations in the outpatient area. For foreign patients, treatment procedures can be explained in foreign languages.
